To start making your sugar glass bottles, you must form a mold of a regular bottle. F time and be careful not to cut yourself with the blade.Use modelling clay to cover a bottle, ensuring that every nook in the bottle is covered. Some modelling clays need to be left dry for several days. .Once it is dry, carefully cut the mold in half with a razor blade, this is somewhat tricky so do not rush it and be careful.
In a pot, bring 1 part water and 1 part liquid glucose to a simmer. Stir in 3.5 parts sugar, and keep simmering and stirring until it is well mixed and has a thick consistency. Once it reaches this state, get the sugar glass bottle molds.
Pour the sugar glass preparation in to the prepared glass bottle molds, make sure to flatten it out and that each part of the mould is filled, you do not want gaps in your stage glass bottles. If some spills over the edge of the mold, wipe it clean with a wet cloth.
Once you have filled the molds with the sugar glass mix, let them rest in a cool place, out of direct sunlight for a couple of hours. Then lay out the molds on a soft towel, and gently remove the half sugar glass bottle from the mold, if you are having difficulty, gently prise it up with your finger nail, and tap the back of the mold
Finishing your Sugar Glass Bottles.
Super glue the two halves of the sugar glass bottle, and wipe down any excess that spills over the edge, paint the bottles the desired color and voilá, you now have your very own stage glass bottle.
Be careful, Sugar glass can still cut you.
